This is a truly special set! Rare antique scissors, with SWORD STYLE SHEILD, excellent decorative and functional accessories to compliment a high quality collection.
They are Art Nouveau, Mucha Style for sure, fitting in perfectly with Arts & Crafts / Stickley & Limbert style.
It's marked German / Vom Cleff & Co., which was a New York City company store owned by Robert Vom Cleff, a German who immigrated & opened, built up his store in the late 1890's / early 1900's.
About 10 inches long.
Condition is documented in the photos. Original patina and surface issues consistent with over a century of use. The shield has heavy sticky oxidation rust issues on the inside that get’s onto the scissors. As shown in photo, it's fully functional as working scissors.
