    Description

    Unusual Antique Steel Embroidery Scissors
    English * Circa 1880s
    These antique steel scissors
    have a very unusual pattern.
I collect scissors and have seen many over the last 40 years, but not these. A very popular scissors style was to have scrolled shanks that flip outward below the bows. These are
    reminiscent
of that style but they have much larger round terminals.
    The
steel has a brushed gunmetal finish and the condition is excellent with no rust or other damage. The blades are tight with intact
    points and they
cut very well to the tips.
    T
    hey measure 4 3/8" long and t
he blades are stamped with the maker's mark for the Mappin Brothers of Sheffield.
I stand behind everything that I offer and
    guarantee
that it is exactly as presented.
