Antique Sterling Silver Embroidery Scissorsby Gorham Co. * Circa 1890s
These little antique sterling silver handled scissors have elegant scrolling designs on the shanks and bows. They are marked "Sterling"
and they have the maker's marks for the Gorham Co. of Providence, RI. The blades are are marked "Germany" which is where the American silver makers bought their blades at the time.
The condition is excellent with no dents or other damage and they measure a petite 3 1/2" long. I believe the silver handles are solid rather than hollow so they would be hard to dent. The steel blades are are tight with intact points and they cut very well to the tips.
