These chairs are indestructible and would make great restaurant chairs. I have some year round on a covered patio in Wisconsin for ten years with no signs of deterioration or change.
The labels of the chairs I have are consistent with the original labels from the first 17,000 chair order for University of Illinois at Chicago Circle in 1964. I am located 3 hours from that location. See davidrowland.design online, go to the LIFE link at the top and scroll to 1963/1964.
    I
have 26 chairs. I am located in Princeton Wisconsin but travel weekly form Princeton to Brainerd Minnesota and can deliver the chairs along my route to buyers willing to meet me along my route.
Contact me with questions about purchasing more then one chair and potentially shipping items to you. I have a retail store and can process shipping and costs for shipping and additional chairs through Twister if you like.
DAVID ROWLAND GF 40/4 Vintage Modern Stacking Chair Black Steel.
Original 40/4 Chairs with David Roland Signature Labels on the bottom.
Two chairs are missing the plastic clip-on feet. Acrylic Clip-on glides for sled based chairs can be purchased online for under each
The chairs are in great shape consistent with their age. These items suffer the fate of all these chairs that are stacked without using a proper stacking base, they are scratched on the chair pan center front (See Photo). I choose not to repair for sale but you could easily paint repair if you choose.
Most people see the 40/4 as a pioneering design that has stood the test of time. We like to think of it as a legacy that continues to move you in new ways.
