Burl wood pen. Condition is "New". Shipped with USPS First Class. Hand made from stabilized mockernut hickory burl wood with black mica colored resin to get the black metallic stripes around the tip with a thick and durable Cyanoacrylate coating and polished to a mirror smooth finish to protect the wood and give the pen a slick lustrous finish. The pictures really don't let you see the swirling visual effect in the resin that the black mica makes, but as you turn it it has kind of a black mother of pearl effect around the end. The elephant is only to display the pen, it does not come with it, pen only. Mockernut hickory is a very rare wood, especially burl from one so I'd imagine that while you'll find hundreds of hand made wooden/burl pens made from oak maple hickory walnut and other trees, this is it as far as Mockernut hickory goes. As in, this wood is just hard to find anymore where other burls i find every day. Turners that luck up and find a piece of this wood wait years to find the perfect whatever to use the little they may have on because it really is that rare. To my knowledge, this is the only one on ebay that you'll find. Thanks for looking..
