Antique/Victorian/1880-1910: a Set of Five(5) BONE/STEEL Sewing/Embroidery/Cutwork Tools in their original Green Leather-case. Complete. Minor issue with one carrier split but all pieces still present. Some rust on the steel sections There's a.flat-headed Punch(with the small :mallet head), a Screw, 2 differently sized Awls, and a Tweezer. The handles are solidly attached, very nice to hold; the bone surfaces are smooth, highly polished, and without nicks or splits, though the Tweezers do have a short hairline near the metal bezel. See photo #5 for detail. For most European-style handwork. Great to use or display.
NOT Celluloid.
The case is of a very thin, fine-grained leather, embossed to look like sharkskin/shagreen, as it has a small 'stacking' pattern but no actual separate, differing-sized markings. It is in a strong, deep-toned, and shiny Green. it is a fold-over type of case and completely finished. No fasteners, no labels, no makers' marks. Overall measurements are: Case >5 1/2" closed;7 3/4" open. . Tools: shortest measures 3 1/4"s long; longest is 4 5/8" long.
One of two different sewing tool sets being offered. These have been in my family since the early 1960's. No one left who is interested, so I am letting them go to a good home where they will be appreciated.
