A nice rare antique Edwardian period solid sterling silver mounted sewing hem measuring gauge in lovely condition and dating from around 1910-20. Good quality genuine 100 year old example; it has a 3 inch white metal measure with working sliding clip and has an attractive ornate pierced sterling silver handle/finial decorated with flowers and swirls. An uncommon item. There is a monogrammed B on the heart.
Measurements Measures approx. 4.65 inches (116mm) in length x 1.05 inches (26mm) wide.
Date Antique solid sterling silver, hallmarked on the handle with a "Sterling" silver hallmark, and it is stamped on both sides. The measuring gauge is unmarked white metal. 100% guaranteed antique and dates from around 1910-1920.
Vintage Sterling Heart Dress Hem is in good vintage condition. There are some scratches and scuffs on the measuring portion of the gauge. The heart is in great shape with a monogrammed B (see pics for more details)
