Antique Sewing Case Etui Kit w/ Tools Needle & Note Book, Celluloid Leather Silk
Item Description:
Here's a delightful little sewing etui in the form of a little wallet or purse. It likely dates from the early 1900s - 1920s. The exterior is celluloid with steel accents. The inside contains a few little treats. Protected by a leather flap are several sewing-related tools, including a pair of scissors, a steel punch, a steel knife, and a mother of pearl (MOP) ladies' sewing knife. Also included are two pink silk covered "books" - one is a needle book with wool leaves with finished edging, and the other a little notebook / aide de memoir.
Condition:
In good condition overall, with some wear to the steel on the case and the tools. There's also some minor wear to the silk binding. Finally, the ladies' knife appears to have originally had two blades, with one broken off (see photos).
Size:
Approx. 3 1/2" by 2 1/2" closed, approx. 6 1/2" long when opened.
