ANTIQUE SET OF THREE STERLING BODKINS IN FITTED CASE, USA. c.1910.
Three sterling bodkins, largest 2.75 inches long.
The shield shaped case made from green fabric with a mother of pearl boss with seed turquoise. Lined with cream colored fabric
Each bodkin marked sterling and the maker mark of S in a shield for Simons Bros & Co. Philadelphia.
Condition good, minor fraying to fabric.
Bodkins like these were made to thread ribbons through lace and fabric
garments, especially in underwear, where the ribbon was removed before laundering.
