Here is a lovely antique German Shepherd Alsatian Dog measuring tape in celluloid ~~ You won't find another like it!
Very nicely made with splendid detail
As it is 100+ years old, and h
aving a very small and old spring mechanism, I don't recommend actually using the tape for measuring.
Having said that, I did gently pull it out to 80", and then got some resistance and stopped ~~ it retracted smoothly
There is no maker's mark or stamp of origin. Many of these fine antique figural tape measures were made in Germany. German Shepherd
s/Alsatians were very popular in the early 1900's, in great part due to movie stars Strongheart and Rin-Tin-Tin.

Width Tip of Nose to Tape Pull:  2"
Height Tip of Ears to Base:  1-3/4"
Have no idea what the hand-written numbers are on the bottom. I've had this handsome Shepherd for many years and the numbers were there when I got him.
There is minor evidence of wear ~~ h
as been very gently used and well cared for
