SFH485P 880nm Infrared LED
This LED is used frequently in the hardware portion of motion tracking software such as freetrack. The LED is capable of high current and has a strict viewing angle of 40 deg. which is required for optimal software function. There are also many other uses for this LED within electronic devices.
Note:
Each LED is tested via multimeter to verify integrity. You will not receive a "dud". Also, most IR LEDs can be visually tested with the forward facing camera of a smartphone. The IR wavelength of this LED was undetectable on my phone. However, with a night vision scope the LED was very bright compared to other IR LEDs. An appropriate phototransistor would also be able to verify proper functionality.
