Description

Welcome to
Antiques & Moore!
This listing is for a fabulous 19th Century French needle case with mother-of-pearl panels on both the front and back with the front also decorated with an inlaid medallion in center top with hand painted decoration and a reticulated Sterling Silver border. The interior of the case is covered in rose colored silk with compartments to hold sewing needles. The mother-of-pearl panels are applied to a silver metal frame with a tight hinge and the case opens and closed correctly. The silver metal frame is unmarked so we are uncertain as to metal content. The center medallion is hand painted with a bow and quiver of arrows inside a wreath medallion at the top, a fancy monogram in the center and a garland handing from an arrow at the bottom.
Measures 3 1/4" long, 2 1/4" wide and 1/2" deep. Weighs 2.5 ounces.
This lovely needle case is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws other than wear to the silk fabric interior and other minor signs of normal wear.
We welcome International buyers, however, please note that we as sellers have no control over random Customs inspections.  We are not responsible for any Customs charges incurred as a result of this purchase.
